Space Sheriff Gavan: The Novel (宇宙刑事ギャバン THE NOVEL Uchū Keiji Gyaban Za Noberu?) is a novel by Yuji Kobayashi. It was released on October 5, 2012 by Asahi Shimbun Publications.

This is the story before Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie. In Chapter 1 and in Chapter 7, when they learned about Ezekiel's goal, it was told about six space pirates (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger
) and those who inherited the blood of Don Horror (Ashurada), it can be seen that it is a later story of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Space Sheriff Gavan The Movie. The novel also talks about the current situation of Mimie, who did not appear in Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie. In addition to this work, the author Yuji Kobayashi also wrote the novel Space Sheriff Gavan Type-G: The Beginning with Space Sheriff Gavan Type-G as the main character, and is also in charge of the script for the manga Space Sheriff Gavan: Hero of the Darkside.
Story[]
The Novel takes place directly after the events of Space Sheriff Gavan while neglecting events from Sharivan and Shaider, such as Retsu Ichijoji and Mimie's marriage. Instead, Retsu is now a special police investigator and Mimie is a teacher on Bird Planet. Den Iga has since retired from being a Space Sheriff aka Sharivan in order to rebuild his home planet.[1][2]
