Hayato Kano (叶 隼人 Kanō Hayato?) is Draft Redder (ドラフトレッダー Dorafuto Reddā?)[1], the main protagonist of Tokusou Exceedraft. He is Exceedraft's team leader, also Ryouma Kagawa and Daiki Nishio's successor.
His Tri-Jacket, Redder, is later upgraded to SyncRedder (シンクレッダー Shinkureddā?)[2]. His Tri-Jacket color is red.
Biography[]
Tokusou Exceedraft[]
Hayato is 25 years old from Interpol (ICPO)[3]. The rank is superintendent[3], and he is the captain of SRED. He also speaks 5 languages and practices sports[3]. He is calm and responsible, being kind with children[3]. But, when it is about working, he becomes very strict. To uphold justice, he challenges his own limit.
The reason for joining SRED was the line of duty of Hideo Kurita, a colleague who was also a close friend. At first, he blamed himself, but with the determination that he could not waste his friend's will, he volunteered for the captain of SRED, which was founded later. In the final episode, he runs out of power while defeating Daimon and breathes out, but he comes back to life with the thoughts of his friends and his own will to live.

Hayato implemented his SWAT Mode's Tri-Jacket[4], transformed into Draft Redder (ドラフトレッダー Dorafuto Reddā?). Suitable as the captain's suit, it has excellent overall strength and speed, including bulletproof and impact resistance[4].

After a particularly crushing defeat, the original Draft Redder's TryJacket was upgraded by Ai Hyuuga. There are no significant changes from the original, except for some white lines added to the upper arm and thigh armor.

Portrayal[]
Hayato Kano is played by Shigeki Kagemaru (影丸 茂樹 Kagemaru Shigeki?), who later played Tetsuo Shinjoh in Ultraman Tiga. As Draft Redder, his suit actor (for action)[7] was Masato Akada (赤田 昌人 Akada Masato?). Kazutoshi Yokoyama (横山 一敏 Yokoyama Kazutoshi?) also starred as the suit actor for Draft Redder[7] and Sync Redder[7] (both suits for close-ups).

- Hayato is the first Metal Hero to change his armor during the series course.
- Although Ryouma Kagawa was the first Metal Hero to change the armor, he did this in his second series to appear.
- The prefix Sync in the name SyncRedder is derived from a Japanese name for "deep crimson" - shinku (深紅).
