Hakkotsu Doubler (ハッコツダブラー Hakkotsu Daburā?, lit. " Bone Doubler") is one of the Double Monsters that appear in Space Sheriff Gavan.
History[]
He appears alongside the Crushers before Retsu Ichijoji, who is on his way to retrieve the "Flower of Life" from the female assassin Monica in order to save Mimi, who has been gravely wounded by Monica's poisoned arrow. Using his long, bone-shaped trident, Hakkotsu Doubler strangles Retsu by the neck and hurls him away. However, during the encounter, Retsu transforms into Gavan and strikes him with the "Dimension Bomber", forcing him to retreat.
Later, he reappears with the Crushers before Monica—who has been persuaded by Retsu to change her ways—and eliminates her with a hand grenade as she charges at them alone. Enraged by the death of Monica, who had just repented, Retsu transforms into Gavan and engages Hakkotsu Doubler in battle.
He is struck in succession by the "Laser Z Beam" and "Spiral Kick," which sends them into the Maque Space. There, Hakkotsu Doubler fights on with his power tripled, eventually boarding a combat saucer for a renewed assault. However, Gavan summons the electronic space beast Dol, whose repeated attacks destroy the saucer and send Hakkotsu Doubler hurtling out. This leads to a direct confrontation and a one-on-one duel.
In the end, he is defeated in single combat by Gavan's "Gavan Dynamic" and perishes in a fiery explosion.
