Electronic Star Beast Dol (電子星獣ドル[1][2] Denshi Seijū Doru?) is a giant, dragon-shaped robot that supports Space Sheriff Gavan in battle.
Overview[]
Gavan on the Dol's snout.
Upon receiving orders from Gavan, the lower half of Dolgiran called the Dol Unit (ドルユニット Doru Yunitto?) is separates and transforms into a giant blue dragon-shaped robot. Possessing its own consciousness[3], it supports Gavan in battle. While a cockpit exists within its body[note 1], Gavan typically issues commands while standing on Dol's snout during combat. Gavan uses Dol mostly to destroy Makuu's spacecraft but has also been used several times to fight monsters that have grown to giant size.

Its armaments include the Dol Fire (ドルファイヤー Doru Faiyā?)[3], an intense heat flame emitted from its mouth, and two types of Dol Lasers (ドルレーザー Doru Rēzā?)[3]—one that fires red lasers from its eyes and another that emits ring-shaped lasers from its forelegs[note 2]. Additionally, it is capable of engaging in close-quarters combat with giant BEM Monsters and colossal Double Monsters[3] using the Screw Attack (スクリューアタック Sukuryū Atakku?) delivered by its long tail and the Dol Kick (ドルキック Doru Kikku?) executed with its forelegs.
Trivia[]
A suit-type Dol
- As a hero ridden by a Japanese protagonist, its design is based on an Eastern-style dragon rather than a Western one.
- Though primarily filmed using wire-operated models for aerial scenes, a suit-type version with a performer inside was also created.[note 3]
