History[]

Beetle Robot Kabutack[]

Cobrander was the eighth Beetle Robot built by Torahiko Kouenji. Not long after his creation, Cobrander rebelled against his creator and recruited Ganiran and Spydon to his cause, seeking to rule over humanity. To accomplish this, Cobrander and his henchmen sought the Star Pieces in order to use them to wish to take over the world. This led Kabutack and Yuzuru to also start seeking the Star Pieces to stop the Enemy Beetle Robots from using them for evil.

The first Star Piece was attached to a moving truck. Ganirun and Spydon stole the truck and attempted to drive off with it, but were stopped by Kabutack. Afterwards, Captain Tomborg descended to mediate the dispute between Kabutack and the Enemy Beetle Robots, declaring that the winner would be decided by whoever could complete an obstacle course. Kabutack competed with Ganirun and Spydon to complete the course and was able to finish it first, earning him the Star Piece.

Later, Cobrander and his henchmen attempted to help a boy win a game of soccer against Kuranosuke in order to obtain the Star Piece attached to his shoe. Captain Tomborg refereed the game and declared Kuranosuke's team the winner after Kabutack scored a tiebreaking goal. However, it soon turned out that the Star Piece the two sides were playing over was really a fake.

After Sharkler was unsealed and Ganirun and Spydon switched to serving him, Cobrander temporarily teamed up with Kabutack to defeat Sharkler and the other Enemy Beetle Robots in the next competition, a tag team wrestling match. Although Cobrander was able to defeat both his former minions, he was unable to stand up to Sharkler and was forced to tag in Kabutack, who defeated Sharkler with help from a new powerup Dr. Kouenji had developed. After the match, Ganirun and Spydon returned to working for Cobrander.

Despite his grudge against him, Cobrander would occasionally team up with Sharkler them to face off against Kabutack and his allies in various competitions for the Star Pieces.

During the events of The Epic Christmas Battle, Cobrander and his henchmen temporarily allied with Kabutack and the good Beetle Robots to save Yuzuru from the A-Robots and stop their plans to take over the world. The three evil Beetle Robots held off the A-Robots' army of grunts, allowing Kabutack to go ahead and rescue Yuzuru.

After Sharkler theorized that Captain Tomborg was really Dr. Kouenji in disguise, he was able to convince Cobrander and his goons to help him capture Tomborg. At the same time, Kabutack and his friends also came to the same conclusion and went to go unmask Captain Tomborg. However, the last Star Piece attached itself to Tomborg and gave him the power to flee. Although Tomborg was initially able to outmaneuver his pursuers, Sharkler and Cobrander were able to trick him into falling into a sticky trap. The Enemy Beetle Robots then attempted to pull Captain Tomborg out, but he wouldn't budge. Frustrated with the performance of Cobrander and his henchmen, Sharkler blasted them with his Tondemo-Jaws mecha before attempting to step on Captain Tomborg with it and crush him. However, Sharkler's treatment of them drove Cobrander and his men to join the other Beetle Robots in holding up Tondemo-Jaws's foot to save Captain Tomborg. After Sharkler was defeated by Kabutack and swayed to turn good, Cobrander gathered with the other Beetle Robots to witness the competion of the Star Piece.

When the Star Piece brought forward Star Mind, who desired the extermination of humanity, Cobrander and the other Beetle Robots competed against him and his minionsin a game of rugby to decide humanity's fate. Together, they were able to win and save humanity, leading Star Ming to amicably concede defeat and disappear.
